How do I get my speeding ticket deferred?

12 days ago, I got pulled over going 35 in a 25...I've had my license for about 9 months so it was a quick procedure. Anyways, I havent told my parents cause i know they will be SUPER pissed. I have the money, that is not an issue. I have to go to the courthouse tomorrow and ask to get it deferred but im not sure how to! anyone have any tips or facts about how to do this?
