I bought something of e-bay i have paid postal order the seller has posted my item off!!!?

But i missed the courier by 10 mins the courier left a note with the number i phoned the couriers office yet despite endless phone calls they sent my item back to the seller and the seller was charged for it. Now the seller wants me to pay the postage and packaging again if i want my item!! Do i have to? Shouldnt the bloody courier reinburse me?
