Which is better? fibergl composite shingles or asphalt..for a brand new roof..do you recommend a brand?

I had a new roof put on about 6 months ago. I used a composite shingle. It is one of the newer styles, not the one with all the flaps and it went on very nicely. Find you a local roofer and he will probably give you a better price on a good brand. If they are doing a lot of building in your area, all the roofs look the same and they buy in large amounts. I was able to get my house and shed roofed for 18 hundred. I thought that was a good price from several estimates I got. The roof goes good with my house. I had thought of a metal (tin) roof but decided it didn't go with my older home. Good luck.
